The 2025-26 winter snowpack at Fairbanks is gone, with NWS observation site (UAF West Ridge) down a “trace” snow depth for May 3, about 10 days later than average. This is the fourth time since 2018 that the snowpack survived into May. It’s possible that the change in the observation site from the airport to UAF West Ridge is contributing a little bit to these later dates, though the observations from the upper air building ~1999 to 2017 were in a very shaded area, so likely not a lot of difference. There's no long term trend in meltout date.
